Introduction

From the earliest, most primitive shelters to complex, modern construction projects, methods and technologies have changed to keep pace with requirements. Shelters have evolved into buildings of various shapes and countless different functions. Bridges, dams, sewage treatment plants, pipelines, highways, and commercial and government projects of many kinds show the variety of endeavors in the modern construction industry. The construction industry is one of the largest industries in the U.S. and creates a demand for highly trained professionals.

Individuals who choose the Commercial Construction Career path will be prepared for employment opportunities worldwide, including positions as estimators, assistant construction superintendents, assistant or project managers, assistant project engineers, and supervisors.
