What is CCM?

The Commercial Construction Management (CCM) concentration within the Construction Management major at MTSU is designed to prepare students to fill entry-level supervisory and estimating positions in construction-related entities, including commercial construction firms and construction materials manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers. Successful graduates will find opportunities for employment worldwide as estimators, assistant construction superintendents, assistant or project managers, assistant project engineers and supervisors. Positions are plentiful in Tennessee and nationwide.

Students choosing this program will acquire the technical and scientific knowledge base required for success in their chosen fields. Through nationally accredited programs, a project-based learning environment and extensive collaboration with industry, students will study an array of the latest breakthroughs in topic areas such as concrete, construction and engineering systems, rapid prototyping of electrical and mechanical systems, safety, engineering systems, and environmental science. The combination of these programs and activities offers preparation for graduates entering the fast-paced technology sector.

The Department of Engineering Technology at Middle Tennessee State University offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Concrete Industry Management, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, and Environmental Science and Technology. Pre-professional programs, such as Pre-architecture and Pre-engineering, also are available. Pre-professional programs allow students to minors in Construction Management, among others.
